History of Montanans for 4-H

A group of volunteers involved in the Montana 4-H Foundation and Montana 4-H Leaders Council organized the Montanans for 4-H Committee in 1986. This grass roots group of 4-H volunteers held the first Legislative Breakfast in 1987 to educate Montana legislators on the importance and value of 4-H and to inform our lawmakers that funding for Montana 4-H is part of the Montana State University - Montana Extension Service budget. This group's work also involves the establishment of a grass roots network of contacts in every Montana county so that we can continue to have contact with and provide information to our legislators throughout the legislative session.
