montanans for 4-H
The Montanans for 4-H committee was formed in 1986 by members of the Montana 4-H Leaders Council and Montana 4-H Foundation. The mission of this grass roots committee is to educate legislators on what 4-H is, what amazing opportunities 4-H offers Montana youth, and that 4-H is funded through the MSU Extension Service budget at the state level.
Montanans for 4-H organizes and finances the 4-H Legislative Breakfast event through private donations and other support from county councils and foundations. Legislative Breakfast provides an opportunity to educate Montana legislators about the work and successes of 4-H and MSU Extension. It brings youth and adult constituents from across the state together to share ideas, issues and concerns. The breakfast has traditionally been well supported by legislators and special guests with a majority of state senators and representatives in attendance.
The Montanans for 4-H committee depends on local county participation to bring informed youth and adult participants to Helena and attend the breakfast and communicate with legislators and special guests the impact 4-H has on their community and our state.
